MathSheetGo · Sheet #661Please review before classroom use

Measurement conversions connect multiplication and division facts to distances, weights and quantities students encounter every day. These worksheets keep every conversion exact and use whole-number answers, so learners can focus on the relationship between units instead of decimal arithmetic.

Choose US customary or metric units, then focus on length, weight or mass, capacity, or a mixed review. You can practise converting larger units to smaller units, smaller units to larger units, or both directions on the same printable sheet.

Conversions included

  • US length: inches and feet, feet and yards.
  • US weight: ounces and pounds.
  • US capacity: cups and pints, pints and quarts, quarts and gallons.
  • Metric length: millimeters and centimeters, centimeters and meters, meters and kilometers.
  • Metric mass and capacity: grams and kilograms, milliliters and liters.

Teaching tip: name the conversion factor

Before calculating, have students state how many smaller units make one larger unit. Multiply when changing a larger unit into smaller units and divide when changing smaller units into larger units. Ask learners to estimate whether the answer should be greater or less than the starting number as a quick reasonableness check.

How to print this worksheet
