MathSheetGo · Sheet #505Please review before classroom use

Fractions are where many children first find math confusing, because a bigger denominator means a smaller piece. These sheets cover four core skills: adding fractions with the same denominator, subtracting them, comparing two fractions, and finding equivalent fractions.

Every answer is worked out with whole numbers only and then simplified, so the answer key is exact. Fractions are written as 3/4 so they print clearly. Improper results are also shown as mixed numbers, such as 9/8 = 1 1/8.

Suggested progression

  • Equivalent fractions with small multipliers (×2, ×3).
  • Comparing fractions using a common denominator or cross multiplication.
  • Adding fractions with the same denominator, then simplifying.
  • Subtracting fractions with the same denominator.

Frequently asked questions

Are answers simplified?
Yes. Sums and differences are reduced to lowest terms using the greatest common divisor, and whole-number results are shown as whole numbers.
