MathSheetGo · Sheet #1823Please review before classroom use

This 2nd grade math review combines two-digit addition and subtraction in a balanced set. Problems may or may not require regrouping, so students must read the operation and inspect the ones column rather than applying the same written step every time. The mix is useful after both methods have been introduced individually.

Use the default 20-question sheet for independent practice, or reduce it to 10 questions for an exit ticket. The generator keeps the selected skills evenly represented and creates the student worksheet and answer key from the same problem set. Copy the link when you want another adult to open the exact same review.

When to use this Grade 2 review

This page fits an end-of-unit check, spiral review, tutoring session or practice before moving to three-digit work. Because grade expectations differ between schools, first confirm that students have already met two-digit addition and subtraction. Change regrouping to Avoid for an easier sheet or Required for focused carrying and borrowing practice.

Teaching tips

  • Have students underline the operation and estimate the answer before calculating.
  • Encourage neat place-value alignment by switching to the dedicated stacked addition or subtraction sheet when needed.
  • Ask students to check subtraction with addition and to check addition with a quick estimate.
  • Sort mistakes into fact errors, operation-choice errors and regrouping errors to decide what to reteach.
  • Print versions A–D when nearby students need equivalent practice without identical numbers.

How to print this worksheet

  1. Check the settings above. They are already set for second grade mixed addition and subtraction.
  2. Pick 10, 15, 20 or 30 problems, a title, and the name or date lines you want.
  3. Choose US Letter or A4 to match the paper in your printer.
  4. Press Download PDF for a file you can save and reuse, or Print to send it straight to your printer.
  5. Keep the answer key page for yourself. The sheet number in the footer lets you make the exact same sheet again later.

How to extend the review

Once two-digit computation is reliable, select three digits or add multiplication to the mixed review as your own curriculum introduces equal groups and arrays. Keep the problem count modest when adding a new skill so students can concentrate on choosing an approach rather than rushing through a long page.

Frequently asked questions

Does every problem require regrouping?
No. The default Mixed setting includes both types. Choose Required when every addition or subtraction question should involve carrying or borrowing.
Can the problems be printed vertically?
Mixed Review currently uses an across layout because several skill types can share one page. Dedicated addition and subtraction pages support the stacked layout and carry or borrowing boxes.

Worksheets are generated automatically and checked by automated tests, but please review each sheet before using it in class.
