MathSheetGo · Sheet #101Please review before classroom use

Addition is the first operation most children meet on paper, and it is where good habits start: lining up place value, reading a problem left to right, and checking that an answer makes sense. These sheets start with single-digit facts and move up to three-digit sums.

Use the regrouping setting to control difficulty. Choose “Avoid regrouping” when a child is just learning to add column by column. Choose “Required” when you want every problem to need a carry, so the skill gets practised on purpose instead of by chance.

Suggested progression

  • 1-digit facts to build fluency within 20.
  • 2-digit addition without regrouping, to practise adding by place value.
  • 2-digit addition with regrouping (carrying into the tens).
  • 3-digit addition, first without and then with regrouping.

How to print this worksheet

  1. Check the settings above. They are already set for addition.
  2. Pick 10, 15, 20 or 30 problems, a title, and the name or date lines you want.
  3. Choose US Letter or A4 to match the paper in your printer.
  4. Press Download PDF for a file you can save and reuse, or Print to send it straight to your printer.
  5. Keep the answer key page for yourself. The sheet number in the footer lets you make the exact same sheet again later.

Frequently asked questions

What does regrouping mean in addition?
Regrouping (often called carrying) happens when a column adds up to 10 or more, so a ten moves to the next column on the left. For example, 27 + 45 needs regrouping because 7 + 5 = 12.
Can I print the same sheet twice?
Yes. Every sheet has a number in the footer. Enter that sheet number with the same settings, or share the page link, and you get the same problems again.

Worksheets are generated automatically and checked by automated tests, but please review each sheet before using it in class.
